Since 2011, this Montalban-based design office has made an international name for itself in aircraft modifications. This year, PMV Engineering is focusing on lighter seats, high-speed connectivity and the certification of new noise-cancelling headphones used by pilots.

"The PMV Engineering team has started the year well. By the end of 2024, the design office based in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) had certified and installed new passenger seats that were lighter than the current on-board models. In early 2025, a high-speed Internet connectivity system for passengers was certified. These successes are of great interest to airlines the world over..

On its first challenge, the new seats are quite simply the lightest in the world. “They are designed by the French company Expliseat,” explains Olivier Jan, co-founder and chief operating officer of PMV Engineering. “They weigh 30% less than most competing models. This helps to reduce air transport's contribution to CO2 emissions by limiting aircraft fuel consumption.” These first lightweights are installed on Air Tahiti's ATRs and on Boeing 737-800s belonging to Danish airline Jettime."
